GIBBERELLIC ACID

GIBBERELLIC ACID 1 gm

Gibberellins play a significant role in the development of plants. They are known to facilitate rapid growth of stems and roots, promote mitotic division in the leaves of specific plant species, and enhance the rate of seed germination.

This compound is extensively utilized in viticulture to encourage the formation of larger grape clusters and more substantial fruit, particularly in Thompson seedless grapes. Additionally, it is applied to Clementine oranges to yield seedless fruit.

Gibberellic acid is generally employed at concentrations ranging from 0.01 to 10 mg/L.

Key Properties of Gibberellic Acid:

  • Promotes cell growth and elongation
  • Stimulates the cells of germinating seeds
  • Enhances overall plant development
